RECONNECTING WITH THIS LAND

In the spirit of respect and truth, we honor and acknowledge that the land The Hangar Flight Museum sits on is in the traditional territories of Treaty 7 peoples. In 1877, Treaty 7 was signed by members of the Niitsitapi, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, the Îyârhe Nakoda (inclusive of Wesley, Chiniki, and Bearspaw First Nation), alongside the Government of Canada. Calgary is situated within the Métis homeland, and the home of the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We give thanks for being able to live, work, play and learn on this land in peace as Treaty people. We are grateful to the Treaty 7 Nations who have been caretakers and stewards of this land, allowing us to thrive on this land today; a place where many cultures live together in peace and respect. We are all Treaty people.
